When visiting my New Mexican grandchildren, I have the privilege of participating in bedtime. After bathroom trips and tooth-brushing, that time also involves a short devotion and then a time of prayer. Everyone prays. 🙂
Last, but not least, is the three year old. Interestingly enough, his prayer is usually the longest as we hear him thanking God for whatever he sees in the room. “Thank you, God, for the bed, thank you, God for the shelves, thank you, God for Spiderman, thank you, God for the books” and on and on he goes until his mom says, “Amen!” and it’s off to bed.
We chuckle about this, but isn’t it what’s meant by “Count your blessings”? As adults, we get hung up on what we say and how we sound, on our use of “Christianeze” as we speak to God. We forget Jesus once said, “Truly I say to you, unless you become like little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:3-4).
God doesn’t care HOW we come. He cares THAT we come.
When is the last time you, like little Larsson, counted your blessings? May your Thanksgiving be filled with love and gratitude.
“Give thanks to Him and praise His name…” (Psalm 100:4)
“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15)
“…in everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (2 Thessalonians 5:18)
So thankful for you my friend. Thank you for blessing us each week with your God given talent.
Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️

An excellent observance! A terrific illustration. It’s important, too! We need to acknowledge all our blessings and “turn back to praise”! Thank you again…
