How Does He Do It?

Have you ever wondered that about someone?  A friend who is what we’d refer to as an “over-achiever”?  Someone probably just came to mind.  A person we describe as “having lots of balls in the air”, yet seemingly, takes it all in stride.

The bigger question is:  how does God do it?  He created all we see out of NOTHING.  The sun, the moon, the stars, the galaxies.  The planets, the earth with all of its plants and trees and flowers.  Its mountain ranges, rivers and seas.  The birds of the air and the beasts of the field and the creatures of the deep – in all their variety and uniqueness.  And, of course:  man.  The peak of His creation – in His own image.

But, if that weren’t enough, He made a way for man to know Him.  A way for man to experience His love, His provision, His constant presence.  He gave man all He had to offer – including choice.

The other day I met a friend for lunch.  She is a very serious and pensive dear soul.  She shared with me a conversation she’d had with God on the way over about some issues that were troubling her.  He assured her He was always with her.  But, then, He went on to remind her, “I’m with Teri, too.”  How interesting.  Two friends getting together and the Eternal, All-powerful God is with both of them.

When my granddaughter was quite small, she was sitting on the floor next to her grandpa one day watching a TV show he not only produced but also hosted.  She looked at him on the television, then at him next to her on the floor, then back at the TV.  She was clearly perplexed and amazed.  How can my grandpa be in two places at once?  I imagine God smiling at us as I did watching Kaeli that day.

He tells us He will “be with you always” (Matthew 28:20) and that He will “never leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5).  He says “I will be with you and in you” (John 14:17)  He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, loving, a provider, a refuge…and more.

How does He do it?  Here’s a clue:  He’s God.

So, here’s another question:  Do you know Him?

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him…”  (Revelation 3:20)

Mind blowing God! Strange that you would quote the verse that hit both me and Kathy when we came to Christ at the same time! What an amazing God!

I ran across the St. Patrick prayer after Gregory’s passing. I printed it and keep it in my Bible as a constant reminder as I do my daily devotions.
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down.”
That says it all doesn’t it? With Him and friends like you we’ve got everything we need.
Thank you Teri for your weekly insight. So awesome. ❤️❤️❤️
